do you think kantbison will have a happy ending? like ik pretty well bison will never forgive kant he lied about everything at some pointā¦
Oh yes, I am firmly in the camp that we will have our happily ever after. But there will be angst, massive misunderstandings and tears (after all, what is a FK drama without their tears - they cry so prettily). And I'm not sure about you anon, but when FK cries, I think every single audience feels it and becomes emotional with them.
Jojo has sold to us that The Heart Killers is a rom-com. What I think a lot of people forget is rom-com does not equal pure fluff, lovey-dovey moments and light-heartedness.
According to Oxford Dictionary of Literary terms (I can't believe I am resorting to checking the dictionary to make sure I'm not telling lies!) - romantic comedy is defined as "a general term for comedies that deal mainly with follies and misunderstandings of young lovers, in a light-hearted and happily concluded manner while usually avoids serious satire."
Recall some of the well-known Hollywood rom-com in the noughties and early 2000s (and I think @firstkanaphans touch on this on another asked - Hollywood no longer makes great (if any?) rom-com) including "10 Things I Hate About You", which THK is based on.
Others that come into mind include "She's all That", "How To Lose a Guy in 10 days", "Sweet Home Alabama", "50 First Dates", "Bridget Jones Diaries" and even the trashier (but still fun!) movies such as "Maid In Manhattan" (why yes, I have watched all of these in my teens/early 20s)
What all of the above have in common? - Fluffy, light-hearted & comedic scenes? - Yep! The leads fall madly in love? - Of course, its rom-com after all!
BUT, the listed movies all have misunderstandings and conflicts arising between the leads causing heart wrenching, emotional scenes before they reconcile and the leads having their happily ever after (even if the ending may be somehow unexpected - "50 First Dates" comes to mind - cause Lucy having to start her day daily watching the VHS tape that Henry makes for her; chronologically detailing their lives so far due to her permanent brain damage is still bittersweet despite Adam/Drew characters living happily together at the end with their young daughter!)
I also think a lot of us are having spill-over from Jojo (and FK) previous work of "Only Friends", which is definitely not rom-com. And a lot of us probably still have trauma (is that the right word?) from OF (I love OF cause of its different story telling and the actors gave it their all, but I am very much aware of its short-coming as well!)
Plus, Jojo is actually quite known for his comedic series (I think most of us know him from "Only Friends" or "Never Let Me Go"). If you have not checked it out, do give "The Warp Effect", "Mama Go Go" and "Dirty Laundry" a try!
So, anon, I don't think we have to worry (too much) - our 4 boys will sort themselves out (eventually). However, I suspect we are in for some episodes where it will be anxiety inducing (and us cursing Jojo) when we see our boys being all mopey/depressed.
#asked and answered#having say that if ALL my boys do not have their happily ever I will be suing Jojo and GMMTV for emotional damage#the heart killers#kantbison#first kanaphan#khaotung thanawat#stylefadel#can't believe this has become an essay

CH19- Sacrifice (eat me up)
Warning: Suggestive, mentions of drinking, smut, pet names;
a/n: I am running on less than 2 hours of sleep so excuse any typos, grammar mistakes, I am trying my best š and the tittle... well the girls that get it.... get it, the girls that don't.... don't. Also I haven't done smut in a while so forgive me if I'm a little rusty.

[1:33PM]
Y/n: Ning HURRY UP, we're already late!
NingNing: I'm GOING just wait.
After a long search for the car keys, the 3 of you were off to a week of pure bliss. It honestly felt like a dream, something you'd only see in movies. But ever since you met these guys, specifically Jake, your life has been like a 90s/early 2000s rom com. Accompanied by a great group of friends and killer soundtrack.
You had your window rolled all the way down, your feet on the other end of the backseat, soaking up the summery feel you were so much craving for. Happiness, excitment, giddyness, all of these were bottled up inside you ready to burst at any moment. With the help of comfortable seats and a good playlist you were off to dreamland, letting your friends handle the gps on their own.
[3:01PM]
Jake: Good morning sleepyhead.
Y/n: Wait, what? We're here??
Jake: Yeah the girls are already inside, we helped them with the bags and they left me to wake you up.
Y/n: Oh I'm so sorry, I should've helped them and you.
Jake: It's okay, I'm assuming you had a rough night.
Y/n: Yeah insomnia 1, y/n 0.
Jake: Don't worry, I'll take care of them. Now let's go everyone is waiting in us.
Y/n: Fashionably late is how I like to call it ahaha.
[7:24PM]
You felt like a child, you haven't had this much fun in a long time. Sure Niki can be a hand full, but you have two, keeping up with him is no problem. You somehow ended up playing with Jungwon, Sunoo and Niki the entire afternoon while the others went grocery shopping or took a much needed nap.
Dinner time was approaching and you decided to help out setting the table , Jay told you where everything was and you just did your own thing, making sure nothing was missing.
Y/n: Do you need help with that?
Jay: I actually do, can you cut the veggies while I get the meat prepped?
Y/n: Of course! let me just go wash my hands again real quick!
The bathroom wasn't too far from the kitchen it was just down the hall so you carefully headed there, knocking a couple of times, making sure you weren't walking in on anyone. But to your surprise someone was in there and as soon as they said "be right out" you knew who it was.
Y/n: Jake it's me, hurry up I need to go help Jay in the kitchen!
He slightly opened the door, giving you a mischivious smile.
Y/n: So?? can I come in or not??
Jake: Be my guest.
Het got out of the way, allowing you to enter the bathroom, you started washing your hands, but he didn't leave. He shut the door and kept looking at you.
Y/n: What is it, does my hair look bad? Are my clothes dirty?
Jake: No, no everything looks good, so good I want so savour the sight as much as possible.
Y/n: Listen as much as I would love for you to undress me with your eyes, I have things to do so could you please move so I can leave.
Jake: Why don't you beg for it? I'd love to see you whimper. my beautiful girl sounding so pretty for me.
You were actually not surprised by his flirtatious moves, you were more than used to it, he might be incredibly sweet but he's also a menace. Worse thing is, he's aware of it and makes sure to use it very well. You got closer to him, making sure to put your hands on his chest, and your mouth to his ear.
Y/n: It takes two to tango, play your cards right and you might get lucky.
You placed a kiss to his cheek, and grabbing him by the waist you were able to get him away from the door.
[10:17PM]
As the day faded and the night made it's presence, so did a couple of light breezes. You didn't mind it, it was actually a nice contrast with your heated, blushed cheeks. But someone made sure you knew they were bothered. Jake kept staring at you like you had committed some kind of sin, when in reality he was the one picturing all kinds of profanities he would like to take part with you. As your shirt was quite on the thin side, and you weren't wearing a bra, there's not much to the imagination. Obviously no one cared, just your very lust driven boyfriend.
You watched him get up from his chair and go inside the house, for a moment you thought he was just going to grab another bottle of soju, but he came out with one of his flannels. He made his way towards and you let out a light chuckle understanding his actions.
Jake: It's getting kinda chilly, put this on.
Y/n: You know you don't have to keep giving me your clothes, I think the collection has grown pretty fast.
Jake: Very funny baby, but I think we both know the reason to this.
Y/n: I can promise you not a single soul cares. Everyone is busy laughing at Heeseung's silly jokes.
Jake: Well I care, you're making it real hard for me.
Y/n: Yeah I can see that.
Taking the plaid shirt off of his hands you decide to put it over your shoulders. Jake was clearly embarassed by the fact that he couldn't hide his physical reaction to this little mishap. You on the other were more than happy to know it caused some sort of impact on him.
[1:27AM]
The night went on and people started to give into tiredness, it was a long drive here so you couldn't blame them. But for someone that usually goes to bed pretty early your sweet boyfriend was wide awake. Since it was just you and him left you acted upon your desires. You dragged him by the hand.
Jake: Where are we going ?
Y/n: To our room, it's getting late.
Jake: Why do I feel like there's more to this?
You stopped in your tracks, turning around to face his way and look him in the eyes.
Y/n: Why? You don't want more?
The way your tones played with his heart and your words messed with his mind, he was starting to become impatient. It's all fun and games until he breaks, which is exactly what you want it to happen.
He picked you up bridal style, and carried you the rest of the way, closing the door with his foot and throwing you on the bed. You laughed while he climbed on top of you.
Jake: I can finally undress you... with my hands.
He didn't hesitate a single moment, his lust was taking control of his body, making sure that while you were getting naked you were getting pampered. Kisses and bite marks all over your neck and chest. You knew he was the possessive jealous type so the marking didn't come as a shock but the more he did it the more you liked it. Moans started to leave your mouth, softly so it would reach his ears only.
Jake: You knows I wanted to make love to you the first time we did it, but you sure make it hard to not want to fuck you.
His words were as sharp as knife and in a good way, the way you were getting to him made him respond in a way that made you delirious for him. You started to get lightheaded from all the antecipation and antics he was playing on you.
Y/n: Just do whatever you want with me. I'm yours remember. You can devour me whole.
He lets out a sort of a whimper, expressing his despair to act out all his fantasies right here, right now. But amidst all the frantic loving, he stopped to praise just how beautiful you are.
Jake: I got so fucking lucky with you. Do you promise to be mine forever ? Do you promise to only be this angelic to me ?
Y/n: I will give my all to you.
He got exactly what he needed, his possessiveness was reassured and he couldn't believe this was finally happening. His hands made his way from your hips to your nipples.
Jake: You have no idea how hard it was for me to see you this pretty infront of everyone and not be able to just play with them.
You stopped listening mid sentence, his hands were so cold from the beach's breeze and that made it 10x more enjoyable for you. Your moans were egging him on, so much so, he attached his mouth to one of your boobs. That was your most sensitive spot but his knee inbetween your legs were sending you into overdrive.
The air in the room was filled with blood craving lust from both sides, no one was thiking, just acting. There was something so carnal. Jake made sure to prepare you with his slender fingers before entering you, but it was still too much. Tears started to fall down your rosy cheeks. He looked you right in the eyes and kissed the tears away. That was his way of saying he was right there for you and only you. You quickly grabbed onto him, leaving scratch marks all over his back and arms, you were close and he had to know.
Jake: I know baby me too, just cum for me okay, let me hear how sweet you are.
His words did wonders every time, so you did just how he asked, you screamed his name like there was no one else in the house with you. The regret can always come later. Soon he finished inside you, collapsing his sweaty body next to you.
Jake: Thank God you're on the pill, cause I couldn't contain myself.
You both laughed it off and starred each other for a while.
Y/n: They're going to kill us.
Jake: It was all worth it, c'mon let's go shower, maybe a round 2 who knows.
Y/n: You had me at the shower part.

When I say that I was shocked and delighted that you said you would marry smut and fuck angst....obsessed.
I feel like you're my long lost best friend. I am resonating so much with what you're saying. The Nanny was such a fundamental piece of my childhood! I also adore early 2000s rom-coms, love Hozier, and LOVE Ali Hazelwood. And Book Lovers is my favorite Emily Henry book by far. I think my favorite part of Emily Henry (and book lovers specifically) is how much I fall for her characters. When I'm reading one of her books, the characters feel like well loved friends that are telling me their story.
Could you tell me what it is about Love on the Brain that you love? And also Book Lovers?
I just got home from a loooooong day of class. And now I'm fighting the battle of resting tonight or getting ahead on some assignments...the constant struggle. šā¤ļø
omg maybe when all is revealed, we can shriek with each other in our DMs?!
I love so much about those books! They're generally light-hearted and fun, but I think the emotional depth and the connections between the characters is what has really stuck with me. In Love on the Brain, there's that huge paragraph sent between characters that lives in my head rent-free. And there's this sort-of quiet comfort in that book, when they're making space for each other in their lives. Like when they're simply existing in the same place? I eat that up.. (and have been trying to re-create that feeling in my own LOTB-inspired fic).
I enjoy similar things about Book Lovers. I love the chemistry between the leads and the emphasis on the sister's relationship. There's just something about that book that fills my heart in the best possible way, especially when Emily Henry leans into the trope of "unlovable" characters and lets them fall in love so deeply that you can't imagine it any other way. Ughhh I just re-read this book, and now I'm tempted to go back and read it again!
I feel you on the long-day of classes! Rest is always so much better, but I usually end up wishing I'd done something productive. But I'm often catching up, not getting ahead haha.

For that ask thing you just reblogged. All of them. Answer all the questions from 1 to 30+
Well! Didn't expect that lol, but will do.
whatās your Christmas aesthetic? Somwhere between "Tacky" Christmas (think 90s/early 00s look) and Nature took over inside and you're expecting a reindeer to somehow walk out into the livingroom.
good or naughty? Eh, Good for the most part.
what fictional character would you want to find under the mistletoe? There's a COUPLE but most likely Aizawa from BNHA, or Jason Todd from DC. I am fully aware of my type and know I have no chances lol
reindeersĀ orĀ polar bears? Reindeer, for sure!
opening the presents: Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? Counter! Midnight! We used to always open presents at midnight between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, our parents would send us to bed around 8, of course we didn't sleep, and we'd be woken up around midnight, and then all 20-ish of us (more if people could travel) would go one by one and open presents all at once. We still keep the tradition going as much as we can, but we don't mind picking a day or doing both days and seeing the same people twice. Both sides of the family (dad and mom) would both come, my parents go lucky that the in-laws loved each other, and we all get together/visit one another whenever we want. it pays that all of us live in the same city.
whatās your favourite Christmas movie? I'm actually a sucker for those old school stop-motion movies like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Year without a Santa Clause, etc. I also love How the Grinch Stole Christmas (both versions, not with Benedict Cumbersalad) too! But one I haven't seen in FOREVER is The Life and Adventures of Santa Clause (2000s version), been a hot minute since I watched that on Disney Channel.
favouriteĀ Brooklyn Nine-Nine ChristmasĀ episode? I sadly never got into Brooklyn Nine-Nine :(((
whatās your favourite holiday/winter fics tropĆ©? I think Snowed in alone together is a nice one, so long as no one creates angst there >.>
playing in the snow or drinking hot cocoa by the fire? Drinking Hot Cocoa by the fire! I have a fireplace in the den and whenever I can, I like to sit by it and just vibe.
who do you relate to the most, the Grinch or Buddy the Elf? Buddy the Elf, but make me go to the mall and the Grinch shall appear. I get all my shopping done in October.
knitted sweater or knitted scarf? Knitted Sweater! I can't do scarfs too much because i end up getting bugged by them, but I love sweaters!
whatās your favourite Holiday song? "My Grown Up Christmas Wish" sung by Kelly Clarkson. Always manages to make me cry but I do love it.
fairy lightsĀ orĀ neon signs? Fairy Lights.
do you have any particular Holiday tradition in your family? Mostly that midnight one I mentioned in the earlier questions. Oh! And my Maternal Grandmother has an old baby Jesus doll from Mexico (actually 2, but we use the bigger one). We place the doll (made out of clay or ceramic i think, but I can't recall, it's painted over) gently on a blanket, lift it up, and we sing him to sleep as we gently rock the blanket back and forth. Once he's "rocked to sleep" each of us will kiss his forehead to wish him a good night, before he's placed in the 'manger'.
hot cocoa or hot cider? Hot Cocoa!
Michael BublƩ or Mariah Carrey? Imma have to go with Michael, I'm happy Mariah got her bag but c'MON, It's too much by now.
do you celebrate Christmas? I do! I'm no longer a practicing Catholic and honor more Yuletide events instead, but I love to celebrate Christmas too, it's what i've known for a long time.
snowed in with your crush: yay or nay? Yay, but I currently don't have any haha, wish me luck in the wilds that are dating apps!
Christmas rom-coms or Christmas children movies? Christmas Children Movies, Rom-coms can be over done and too cheesy for my tastes, and I have a couple Xmas hallmark movies I like.
youāve been visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas PresentĀ and the Ghost of Christmas future. What did you find out? I found out that I can't allow my fear of the unknown to hold me back, it's sadly a truth i learned late in life. But I am learning.
spending Christmas with the whole family orĀ justĀ with your so? (hint: it can be your pet) With my family, again, not dating ATM, but I am getting some cute catches.
whatās the first thing that pops into your mind when you think about Christmas? The scent of pine. I love that smell and can get VERY addicted to wearing all those candles to nubs just to enjoy it.
Gingerbread or cookies? Gingerbread, they can have a bit of a bite to them and that's honestly very appealing to me. I can't handle too much sweet.
whatās a good book to read during the holidays? Whatever you like, honestly! I'm looking up my old Jr. High books from almost (oooof) fifteen years ago! I really loved "The Goblin Wood" though! It's by Hilari Bell.
Skiing or Ice-skating? Neither, my ass is not balanced enough to not eat snow/ice. I WILL break something.
where and would you spend the winter ideally? Ideally it would be in the UK, honestly, I'm planning go next year! But only for the beginning of December. I can't imagine a Christmas without my family, no matter how chaotic and loud we all get. (I'll have to answer the rest after I post this!)

Shopping For A Few New Wide Receivers
Hello followers! Hope youāre all doing well. Iām writing to you today because Iāve run into a most troublesome predicament: Iām all out of boys.
Yes, I know itās shameful of me to run out of good suited boys to serve on me and keep me company, but I was careless. Iām not perfect, my apologies. I lent some of my boys out to my elite friends, and now theyāre off in Manhattan with no sign of coming back. The others, well letās just say I accidentally left my poppers out the other day. My boys got their hands on them, and by the time I found them, they were so hopped up on nitrite that they wanted to do nothing butā¦ okay that part was actually quite fun. Unfortunately those chemicals ruined their already limited brain power, and I had to send them off to boarding school to be āre-trainedā. So here I am with no good boys by my side.
So Iāve decided: Why not go shopping! And if Iām going to get new boys, I might as well get them from one of the best sources:
The NFL!
Come on, those men all hopped up on adrenaline. Their bodies massive temples dedicated to physical perfection. Imagine what they could do for me!
So Iāve been scoping out a few of the finest quarterbacks the league has to offer. I sent them invitations to my manor that they found unable to resist, and they arrived earlier today. I already offered them drinks to dull their senses and put them in a state of euphoric bliss, now all thatās left to do is for me to give them a look and personality improvement, and then Iāll have some brilliant new boy toys!
Letās look at who we have
Brady Quinn
Oh my, look at that hair! Brady looks like he could be the stand in jock in an early 2000s teen rom com. Only this story is going to end a bit differently for him.
Now face and body wise, I donāt have to do anything. That chiseled jaw, those massive arms? Perfect. That hair is definitely going to have to go, though. Letās cut it down quite a bit, put in some gel and comb it into a perfect partā¦ letās do a little more gelā¦ there we go! A gorgeous business cut.
And to go with the business cut, why not a suit! Iāll start simple with a white dress shirt- my, look at how it hugs his chest and arms. Iāll give him a smart grey suit in plaid, and a red tie with a similar fun pattern. I think heās going to be in patterns from now on. Itās a little striking, but also bold, and thatās what I want from him. Iām taking his confidence, his strong personality, and turning it into a flirtatious cockiness. He is going to be āThe Cassanovaā, a boy whoās goal is to surprise you with dates and gifts all the time. He buys you suits and watches because he wants you to look as good as he does, and is always trying to whisk you away to dinnerā¦ when heās not running your errands, of course.
Oh yes, this is perfect for Braden. That smirk combines with the mindless gaze, you can tell heās thinking with his second head. As he should be!
Kirk Cousins
Now Kirk here has quite the scruff going on! Living up to his Viking name. Thankfully, I like my men rugged. But what I like even more is watching rugged men go clean.
So letās drop those clothes, let them disappear. Look at how hairy he is! But now weāre going to get rid of all that hair, let it pull back in, and the pores they came from seal off, making future hair growth impossible. Weāll give that big bushy beard have the same treatment and- wow! That square jaw and golden smile! A bit baby-faced, but it works. The only hair he can grow now is his eyebrows and hair. And both of those stay neatly maintained on their own now in a short, clean cut
The suit, Iām thinking light colors and neat patterns. Close checkers and stripes are his favorite thing now, in bright colors especially. His wardrobe shines as bright as his smile from now on. Kirk is becoming āThe House Husbandā, a sweet obedient boy who knows that you deserve to live in a tidy home. He ensures that every asset of the house is spotless, cleaning up in his frilly apron and yellow rubber gloves every day. He also makes sure you wake up to a freshly cooked breakfast and come home to a freshly cooked dinner every night. And heās always ready for after bed cuddles and tea.
Sweet Kirkland, he dotes on me more than all of them. Heās a sweet soul now, always surprising me with fresh flowers and other sweet gestures.
Jimmy Garoppolo
What a smile! You donāt even need to see the 49ers jersey to feel that classic California cockiness dripping off of Jimmy. Unfortunately, we already have Braden to fill the role of hot shot, but I think I can channel Jimmyās energy into somebody just as important.
Now Iād say lose the beard and body hair, but the truth is that disappeared as soon as I laid eyes on him, he just didnāt notice. And Iām going to break my āno changing bodiesā rule just for now, to push him up to 6ā5ā. Iām allowed to be greedy, okay! And speaking of greedy, I can tell from the way heās adjusting his pants that his equipment has scaled up to match.
Weāll comb his hair into a clean business part. And also keep his suit on the simple side. A clean navy suit with a white shirt. He sticks to solid suits in classic colors now, although he of course fills them out magnificently at his new height. And he also has no need for a tie. His focus is more on immediate needs, as āThe Chauffeurā. He just loves to carry your bags now (donāt tell anyone, but I may have rewired him so that heās sexually aroused by carrying bags), and he also drives you wherever you need to go. āWhere to, sir?ā He says with a pearly white smile.
Look at James now. Heās oh so helpful. And oh so horny as well, it seems. No worries, we can pull over and take care of that soon.
Cam Newton
Last, I have the man himself, Cam Newton. Heās so skilled they call him āSuper Camā. Whenever I think of the Patriots, I always think of the vast culture of New England, particularly the more upper-class aspects. āCape Cod gentilityā could look good on you, Camā¦
Letās clean up that hair, both facial and on your head. Clean shaven, so I can feel his smooth skin. The suit: Iām thinking bright, Iām thinking preppy. In fact, letās give him a bow tie! We havenāt done that for anyone today. In fact, letās make bow ties his daily choice of attire from now on. Along with the cleanest, finest looking preppy suits he can find. Heās going to be āthe Gentlemanā, a boy who introduces you to the finer aspects of life. Trips to the country club, exclusive yacht parties, first class flights to the Swiss Alps, this boy will do it all for you. He always smells like aged brandy and fine leather polish, and as you spend time with him, you canāt help but appreciate the expensiveness.
Here Cameron is now. God he looks so dashing. Weāre actually off to a wine tasting now. James is pulling around with the car as we speak. And once again, my life is blessed by good, well-dressed, obedient boys! The way it should be.
Thank you so much for joining me today, followers! I hope you got some valuable insight on how to pick and change your boys to best suit you!

Celebrate the Olympic Spirit
Sure, the Olympics arenāt a holiday, per se, but the every-four-year, or two if you count both Summer and Winter editions separately, massive international sporting events sure seems like a reason to celebrate, especially given their recent, unprecedented delay. And whatĀ better way to get into the Games mood, than by watching a sports movie?
Here are my favorite motivating, inspirational, and aspirational tales of athletic derring doā¦
Favorite Sports Movies
The Cutting Edge (1992) - This figure skating romance was released around the 1992 Olympics, and actually name-checks that year's winter host city, Albertville, more than once. Ā It's not good in the traditional sense of great storytelling or athletic veracity, but I loved it so very much I saw it three times in the theater as a teen. Watching it at some point during every Winter Games is a tradition for me so, yeah, I canāt help it,Ā I love this silly sports movie/romance, which also features a bit of holiday feels.
Wimbledon (2004) - It's a rom-com. It's a sports movie. It's a rom-com sports movie that really should be better known. Notting Hill but set at tennis' best-known event. Paul Bettany and Kristen Dunst have surprisingly great chemistry, and there's more sports-related tension than you'd think.
Friday Night Lights (2004) - A football movie for people who don't really like football. a.k.a. šāāļø. The TV series it spawned is also brilliant (āClear Eyes, Full Hearts,ā indeed), and well worth a watch, but the original movie, starring Billy Bob Thornton, is, honestly, a masterpiece. Definitely Peter Berg's best work and the original book, written by Berg's cousin, Buzz Bissinger, is a great read.
Muriel's Wedding (1994) - You mean you forgot this Australian export, which made Toni Collette a star, was a sports movie? Yep, one of my all-time favorite movies, of any genre, this absolutely brilliant, ABBA-soaked comedy is not only a girls-night go-to, but also a stealth Olympic sport classic.
Remember the Titans (2000) - OK, football isn't in the Olympics, but it sure does make for a good sports movie setting. Even if this early 1970s-set story is most definitely Disney-fied, Denzel Washington, Will Patton, Ryan Gosling and a baby Hayden Panettiere really sell this sort-of true story.
Invictus (2009)-Rugby isn't an Olympic sport, or even one most Americans know much about, but this Matt Damon-led, Clint Eastwood-directed, based-on-a-true-story tale made me care about a sport I'd only tangentially knew even existed before watching.
Hoosiers (1986)-I grew up in Indiana so, by law, I have to include this basketball classic on any "best of" sports movie lists. Also, it actually is really very good.
Rudy (1993)-Ditto the above. But, again, it's hard not to root for Sean Astin (and Jon Favreau!) in this love letter to the Fighting Irish. Plus, thereās no better scavenger hunt task or TikTok challenge thanĀ going into a bar and convincing a patron to allow you to put them on your shoulders and march around chanting, 'Rudy, Rudy, Rudy.'Ā
Miracle (2004) - Given how much more popular the Summer Olympics are, it's weird that the Winter Games seem to get all the good movies made about them, but this Kurt Russell-led true tale is another Disney sports movie classic.
McFarland, USA (2015) - Disney, and Kevin Costner, just really know how to make a sports movie, damn it! This movie made me care about cross country for which it, too, could have carried the title Miracle.
A League of Their Own (1992)-The best baseball movie ever. Yeah, I said what I said. Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Lori Pettyāeven Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell are making it work. 1992 was a weirdly great year for sports movies.
Moneyball (2011) - A movie about baseball, and math, and yet it's also great, I swear. In addition to all of the above, it's also a stealth Christmas movie and maybe Chris Pratt's best non-Marvel, movie role.
Creed (2015) - This surprisingly effective Rocky reboot starring Michael B Jordan as Apollo Creed's illegitimate son has spawned its own movie series which, in many ways, exceeds the original Rocky franchise.
Rocky Balboa (2006) - Maybe it's because I was a toddler when the original Rocky came out, so only saw the ever-worse sequels as a kid, but this mid-aughts return to the character for Sylvester Stallone, as both writer and actor, is a triumph.
Eddie the Eagle (2016) - That Hugh Jackman features in as many movies (spoiler alert) on this list as Kevin Costner surprised me, too. This story of the English ski jumper who became infamous for being, well, less than golden, is one of those non-Olympic triumph stories that really works. If you're going to watch one underdog-at-the-Games movie, I definitely prefer this this to the more ubiquitous Cool Runnings.
Love & Basketball (2000) - Only because I'm an anglophile is this great, chemistry-filled Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps college basketball romance not my favorite sports-movie-meets-rom-com.
I, Tonya (2017) - Margot Robbie and a nearly unrecognizable Sebastian Stan are perfectly cast in this sarcastic, highly stylized look at the Tonya Harding scandal.
Pride (2007) - Apparently I like this swimming movie, which I think almost no one saw, better than critics, but I found this 1970s-set, Terrence Howard-Bernie Mac-starring story of inner city kids excelling in the pool emotional and entertaining.
Field of Dreams (1989) - This Kevin Costner magical realism baseball classic is often goofy and imminently tease-worthy and yetā¦It also works. Maybe it's no surprise that someone who loves cheesy Christmas movies as much as I do would have a soft spot for Field of Dreams.
42 (2013) - Chadwick Boseman is absolutely fantastic as legend Jackie Robinson. One of those movies that's ostensibly about baseball, but is really about so much more, except not in a pretentious way.
Race (2016) - Before Jason Sudeikis was Ted Lasso, he was famed track coach Larry Synder in this Jesse Owens biopic that is far from perfect, but still important. Plus, I honestly don't think Stephan James got enough credit for his relatively nuanced portrayal of Owens.
Goon (2011) - This overlooked gem starring Sean William Scott as a semi-pro hockey player whose main skill is his ability to take, and dole out, a beating, is surprisingly great.
Real Steel (2011) - This is a robot-boxing movie starring Hugh Jackman that is basically Rocky meets Over the Topāand yet it's actually really good. Yeah, I was surprised, too.
Forget Paris (1995) - OK, so maybe Billy Crystal playing an NBA referee doesn't really make this a sports movie, but it does begin and end (spoiler alert) at real NBA games, and I will die on the hill that this rom-com co-starring Debra Winger is wildly under-rated.
Bend it like Beckham (2002) - This girl-power sports movie has some highly questionable romantic dynamics (the coach is their love interest???) but this Parminder Nagra-Keira Knightley movie is also a heckuva sports movie and an inspiring immigrant story.
Bonus Pick: The Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso is one of the best things I watched in 2020, and I'm sure of that, because I watched it twice since, just to be sure. Jason Sudekis is absolutely perfect as an American college football coach taking over a UK Premier League team. This sweet show with a heart of gold is smart, funny, and absolutely impossible not to loveāeven for a cynic such as myself.
More Sports Movies Worth Watching
ForĀ someone notĀ very into sports, I am, apparently, into watching movies about sports, so while not a comprehensive listing of the entire, vast genre, here are a few more suggestions I personally think are worth watching.
The Miracle Season (2018) - This movie about high school volleyball champs whose star player dies suddenly stars Helen Hunt and is a lot better than you'd think based on its tiny budget and, honestly, fairly small story. Just missed making my Top 25.
The Way Back (2020) - This Ben Affleck as a drunken high school basketball coach movie is a lot better than expected. Released just as the pandemic kicked into high gear, it was overlooked last year, but worth seeking out.
Fighting with My Family (2019) - Does it count if it's a show, not a sport? Either way (but that's why this isn't in my Top 25), this stealth Christmas movie/love letter to the WWE is a lot better than it ever needed to be thanks to some really great performances from Florence Pugh, Lena Headey and directer Stephen Merchant. Even The Rock reins it in.
Warrior (2011) - You couldn't pay me to watch an actual UFC bout, but this Tom Hardy story of (literally) battling brothers is incredibly compelling and well done.
Win Win (2011) - This movie isn't really enough about wrestling, even though its ostensibly centered around the sport, to make it into my Top 25, but it's still really good, and Amy Ryan gives an outstanding performance.
Fever Pitch (2005) - Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon star in this remake of a UK film whose ending they had to shift when the Red Sox unexpectedly won the World Series.
Fever Pitch (1997) - This Colin Firth-starring, Arsenal-centered original is much smaller, more realistic and arguably better than the big budget Barrymore-Fallon redux.
We are Marshall (2006) - A real-life sports tragedy made into a sports-movie tearjerker starring Matthew McConaughy. And my tears were very much jerked by the end.
Coach Carter (2005) - Samuel L Jackson plays real-life basketball coach Ken Carter and, because it's a Disney movie, doesn't use the F-word even once. Now that's a feat worthy of its own sports movie.
InvincibleĀ (2006) - Yes, it's Mark Wahlberg, and another based-on-a-true-story, Disney sports movie that hits all the cliches, but dang it, that works on me. It just does.
Glory Road (2006) - If you're sensing a theme with me and Disney sports moviesā¦Well, you're not wrong. This look at the first all-Black starting lineup at the 1966 NCAA Final Four does, unfortunately, center white coach Don Haskins, played by Josh Lucas (though I always mis-remember it as Josh Charles), making the important story it tells less than what it should be, but it still mostly works.
Million Dollar Arm (2014) - Admittedly one of the lesser Disney sports movie entries, and another that centers a white guy in a film mostly about people of color (not a great look), this Jon Hamm movie about a scout seeking an Indian cricket star who can make it in the Major Leagues still mostly worked for me.
The Mighty Ducks (1992) - One of the few movies on this list aimed directly at kids, this beloved peewee hockey saga actually is cute, and mostly does hold up.
Cool Runnings (1993) - Kind of shocked this movie that is part White Savior-movie and part-wacky kids movie essentially making fun of a real group of athletes of color came out in 1993 and not 1973, but the earnest charm of John Candy and a general Disney gloss keep this from being totally unwatchable and mostly just mildly, rather than extremely, offensive. Not really recommending, but feels like it belongs on an Olympic movie list.
Nadia (1984) - This made-for-TV, mostly true biopic, starring Talia Balsam as Nadia Comaneci, was a Disney Channel staple in that networkāsĀ early days.Ā
Munich (2005) - It's a movie with the Olympics very much at its heartānamely the 1972 Israeli athlete hostage tragedyāthat isn't really about the Olympics at all, but this Steven Spielberg-directed movie about national revenge is compelling, if problematic if you think about it for too long.
American Anthem (1986) - Is this Mitch Gaylord-Mrs. Wayne Gretzky (a.k.a Janet Jones) starring movie good, realistic and/or well-written? No, no and none of the above. But did I still watch it 8,000 times as a kid on HBO? Yes. Yes, I did.
Men with Brooms (2002) - Once, on a business trip to Canada, my husband was stuck in a hotel that only got three channels, and one of them always seemed to be showing curling, which actually got him weirdly into this obscure sport. This movie wasn't quite as fun as I hoped, but it's still a mostly charming, if slight, Canadian classic.
Unbroken (2014) - The harrowing and incredible real-life story of Louis Zamperini deserved better than this Angelina Jolie-directed movie delivered, but it's still a serviceable version of a worthy tale.
Chariots of Fire (1981) - I remember being bored out of my mind by this movie trying to watch this movie on cable as a kid, but no denying that, if nothing else, the score is iconic and indelibly linked to sports-movie magic.
Without Limits (1998) - Jared LetoāsĀ Prefontaine beat this one to the theaters, but this Billy Crudup-starring film is the better of the two movies about the life of running pioneer Steve Prefontaine. Thereās also a 1995 documentary, Fire on the Track: The Steve Prefontaine Story.
Personal Best (1982) - Mariel Hemingwayās story of ambition at odds with love, is a sports and LGTBQ+ classic.Ā
Olympic Dreams (2019) - The story of how this small, meandering movie was made during the 2018 Winter Games is, unfortunately, more interesting than the movie itself, but there is some charm in watching Nick Kroll as an Olympic dentist making his way through the real Village, while interacting with real athletes.
Foxcatcher (2015) - This excellently-acted story is more true crime than sports inspiration, but if you're seeking a look at the dark side of the Gamesāand donāt want to turn on a doc like Athlete Aāthis is very dark tale indeed.
Seabiscuit (2003) - Every great athlete deserves to have their story told.
Any Given Sunday (1999) - Oliver Stone and Al Pacino take on pro Football. 'Nuff said.
The Replacements (2000) - I mean, the movie isn't amazing, but Keanu Reeves is super charming and Gene Hackman is always worth a watch.
The Program (1993) - Another bit of a dark-side-of-football take, worth it if only for the fantastic cast: James Caan, Halle Berry, Omar Eps, Joey Lauren Adams.
Everbodyās All-American (1988) - Not a movie I particularly love, but this Dennis Quaid-Jessica Lange football story that spans decades has always stuck in my memory.
Bull Durham (1988) - Just let Kevin Costner play actual baseball already.

A REVIEW OF MY FAVORITE NETFLIX ORIGINAL KOREAN DRAMA: HOSPITAL PLAYLIST
https://t.co/fkqOasA6Tk
Hello, K-Drama fans! I stepped out of Tumblr for more or less than a month. It's a good thing that I didn't forget I have a blog here. Lol. I've been busy so I wasn't able to cross out most of the dramas on my list. But the drama I am about to review right now is actually a series that I already crossed out of my list twice! So what made me watch Hospital Playlist for the second time?
ā¢ Introduction to the Drama
Short Gist:
It's about five friends who used to be school mates in medical school, who are now working at the same hospital.
Director Shin Won Ho and screen writer Lee Woo Jung previously worked on the famous Reply series (which are a work of art!)
The five main characters are (from left to right) Jo Jung Seok, Jeon Mi Do, Jung Kyoung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, and Kim Dae Myung . Quite an interesting line-up, huh?
Yoo Yeon Seok also appeared in many dramas and movies. He's in this industry for 17 years now (if my calculations are correct). He was in dramas Dr. Romantic, Gu Family Book, Reply 1994, etc. Yeon Seok has starred in many medical dramas already.
Jo Jung Seok, an award winning actor, has starred in many dramas and movies. He appeared in dramas The King 2hearts, Oh My Ghost, Jealousy Incarnate, etc. He's a good rom-com and drama actor.
Jung Kyoung Ho has been appearing in the small screen since 2004 and has already landed in many roles. He was in Beating Again, Missing Nine, and Prison Playbook. If you noticed, he was Yoon Seri's ex-boyfriend in Crash Landing On You, which was just a special appearance.
Kim Dae Myung is more of a big screen guy. He has been appearing in movies since 2012. Some of other dramas where he starred are Misaeng: Incomplete Life and The Sound of Your Heart.
The only woman in the main cast is originally a play and musical actress. She's a fresh face in the world of K-drama. Jeon Mi Do had her first role 2 years ago in a drama called Mother. She appeared in a movie called Metamorphosis last year and finally, had her second role this year in Hospital Playlist.
A second season of the drama is to be expected next year. š
ā¢ The Experience
As I mentioned earlier, I've already watched this drama twice! It's not even that long since I watched this for the first time, and I just finished watching it again.
The first time I watched Hospital Playlist, I didn't know what it was all about. I was actually just having a phase where all I wanted to watch was medical dramas (yes... that's true, even though I am not a med student or anything related) so I clicked on it immediately as soon as all of the episodes were released on Netflix. But as soon as I finished watching the first episode, I couldn't really stop myself from watching more.
Typically, I enjoy watching light and funny dramas but this one is on another level. It has become my favorite Netflix original drama! Until now, I still can't get over it. I can't wait for the next season to be released.
ā¢Points that I Liked About the Drama
https://t.co/OC3HEzU0a4
1. Hospital Playlist tells a lot of story about different people. There are five main characters but the story does not only revolve around them but also tells the story of the people around. This is actually common when it comes to medical dramas since there are a lot of patients. However, in this drama, they didn't just focus on patients but also on the hospital staffs. In fact, there are so many doctors from different departments that are shown here. I got to see more of what's happening during their breaks, how senior doctors look over the interns and residents and other staff, etc. Of course those are not real life scenarios, but it seemed real and made me feel like I am one of them.
2. Light and funny but really heartwarming. It's the kind of drama that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. It's not the slapstick comedy kind of drama but more of a situation-based kind? I don't know if you get it at all, LMAO. Watching it makes you feel like you're just catching up with friends, talking about your daily lives and laughing and reminiscing about the past.
3. Plotless but not nonsensical. It is not a complicated drama which is easy to watch no matter how old or how young you are. It should still be watched chronologically, though, because there are still a lot of stories to follow about each character. There's just no definite goal that was shown in the drama but the way the story was told, it's almost perfect.
4. One of the most realistic medical dramas. There are no exaggerated medical scenes where the doctors have to do impossible things and whatsoever just to save a patient.
https://t.co/Z6U1T2nBI0
5. I love the characters. It's impossible to choose a favorite character! Even the supporting ones are characterized well. Each character is different, that's why even if there are many of them, you won't get lost.
6. It's a medical drama so I learned a lot as well. If you are interested in medicine or currently taking up medicine related programs, Hospital Playlist is a good k-drama option to watch.
https://t.co/xGbTvz4giu
7. The OST is good. I highly recommend this drama if you are a sucker for good OSTs like me. All of the songs here are just covers. I am not familiar with the original songs since they are from the 1990s and early 2000s, but I still enjoyed them. For a month, I've only played Hospital Playlist OST. I'm not even kidding!
https://t.co/p3gGyjAKSS
8. They didn't overdo the romantic scenes. I ship a lot of the characters because there are also side stories like doctors who start to like each other. But none of them are cringey. I had a good time watching some characters' love story as it progresses.
9. There are so many cameos. I won't mention them because it may lead to spoilers but I swear, I love those special appearances!
ā¢ The Ending
The ending of the first season was satisfying. There are still unanswered questions, though. That's something to look forward to for the 2nd season. I can't say much about the ending because I know that it's not the final one yet. Still, my heart was contented with the 12 episodes.
ā¢Final Thoughts
Will I watch it again? YES. FOR SURE.
Will I recommend it? YES. WATCH THIS DRAMA RIGHT AWAY OR ADD THIS TO YOUR PENDING LIST IMMEDIATELY.
Rate: 10/10 (for this season only)
āāāāāāāāāā
The reason why it's a 10/10 for me is because I prefer dramas like this, okay? If anyone disagrees with me, you can try to convince me to change my mind but I doubt anything will change. š¤£
ā¢Hospital Playlist Top 5 OST
I really had a hard time picking my top 5 favorite songs because all of them are good. This is a really hard task for me, why did I even do this to myself? Lol. I feel my heart breaking. I. Am. Not. Kidding. So the songs I listed here are not really my top 5, it's rather a proof of my claim that everything is good. ('cos i just can't, i am sorry).
Me to You, You to Me by Mido and Falasol
Lonely Night by Kwon Jin Ah
Introduce me a good person by Joy
Aloha by Cho Jung Seok
In front of city hall at the subway station by Kwak Jin Eon
That's it! There's nothing I don't like about Hospital Playlist and I have no issues, too. If I am to think of one, it would probably be about the release date of the second season because I am dying for it.
So what are your thoughts? š Thank you for reading!

AHHHHH MOONIE I JUST READ ROMEO ROULETTE AND I AM FOREVER BLOWN AWAY BY HOW VERSATILE YOUR WRITING IS???? like i knew you described it as a romcom before but iām literally still so blown away by Just how romcom-like it was?? it literally felt like i was watching an early 2000s romcom!! i felt TRANSPORTED. i can literally imagine the writing as the narration in a romcom.. it was a change from your usual writing but so so so so good nevertheless. ALSO the humor was so fucking funny šš i was dying at some of the dialogues!! u are a PRO at writing dialogue, it feels so dynamic & fun omg. i also love the readerās personality so so much sheās so funny & flirty & i love her work ethic. i think she might be my favorite reader-persona uve ever written š³š³ (donāt hold me 2 that tho im sure if i reread an older work of urs ill get swayed LOL). anyways sheās such a 3-dimensional character (i love delving into character insecurities & motivators!!) & i just Felt her pain sm but also adored her so much bc sheās so cute. itās always such a pleasure to get to know the original characters you write!! ur one of my favorite writers for jaehyun too, i think the easy-going but easily-flustered behavior was Spot On!! i just rewatched princess diaries 2 last night & wanted another lighthearted e2l kind of thing and this hit the spot perfectly!!!! u literally never miss... u never disappoint. this was such a fun read and reminded me how fun fics can be :ā) i havenāt read a new fic in mooonths but i seriously loved everything about this one. another 10/10 as usual moonie!! p.s. as someone who is considering going into either marketing or HR, the banter was SOO funny to me šš they both made valid points!
TATA I SWEAR U MAKE ME WANT TO CONTINUE WRITING ON HERE š”ā¤ļø early 2000s romcom?????? That's the highest praise u could give me omg ????? I can't express how giddy this ask is making me šš I'm so glad my experimenting worked out just fine!!! Honestly it was a change of pace from my usual writing so I was surprised it hit 20k bc it sure didn't feel like it LOL
Also omg??? I never considered myself a dialogue writer bc I always thought I was better at descriptions but thank you??!!!!!! My confidence in dialogue writing has been restored. I'm glad you liked the humour, like, I can't remember but I remember I started laughing at one of my own scenes and went. ok. It's time to close the laptop.
I loved this reader-persona too!!!! She's what I would raise my child to be. (Minus the insecurities and lack of affection šš) I just had to make her annoying bc. I am annoying and I want more annoying original characters. š¬š One of your fav writers for jaehyun..... ma'am. That's such an honor PLEASE.
omg I rewatched princess diaries (the first one lol) with my friends a few days ago and. I have an urge to binge old rom-coms rn !!!! I'm so glad you liked reading my fic, you are The light of my blog š„°š
HHHHH omg HR or marketing??? You are rr jaehyun and y/ns child. Honestly it was so funny writing this bc I kept asking a senior from my uni that now has an HR job about office life and she thought I was interested in the job and went all hr recruiter on me šš¤
